Kit

[edit]

The archetype light blueish and white striped jersey was outset worn on 2 July 1908 in a friendly friction match at Sao Paulo

The kit start worn by Argentine republic in their official debut v Uruguay in 1902 was a light blue shirt.[31]
[32]
On 2 July 1908, Argentina debuted the light bluish vertical stripe on white bailiwick of jersey, when the team played vs a squad formed past Liga Paulista players at Velódromo Paulistano.[33]
That striped jersey has remained as the official kit since then. The away kits usually accept been in night blue shades, varying the colors of shorts and socks.

Argentina has sported other kits until the blue strip on white kit was made official. On 3 June 1919 in Rio de Janeiro playing the "Roberto Chery Cup" against Brazil, Argentine republic wore a light bluish kit, similar to Uruguay.[34]
The trophy was established past Brazilian Football Confederation, for the benefit of Roberto Chery's relatives. Chery was Uruguay's substitute goalkeeper and died during the 1919 South American Championship subsequently collapsing in a game against Chile.[35]

At the 1958 Earth Cup, Argentina wore the yellow bailiwick of jersey of Swedish club IFK Malmö in the lucifer against West Germany, as the team arrived in Sweden without an abroad kit.

A last moment jersey changed at the 1986 Globe Cup in Mexico is memorable. And so director Carlos Bilardo asked the team kit supplier Le Coq Sportif for a lighter blue shirt for the quarter-final in 3 days against England, that could non be provided. A member of coaching staff scoured the shops of Mexico City for 38 shirt plain shirts. They were transformed with an improvised version of the AFA keepsake embroidered on to the shirts,[36]
and silvery American football numbers ironed to the backs.[37]
Argentina crush England with Diego Maradona's "goal of the century".[38]
[39]
The shirt style became an emblem of the occasion and a collector's item.[40]

At the 2018 World Loving cup in Russia, Argentina debuted a blackness away kit, a get-go in their history.[41]

Notes

[edit]

  1. ^

From 1992 on, medals won by Argentine republic were with the U-23 squad, not the senior squad, as ruled past the IOC.[10]
    [11]

  2. ^

There is a precedent of a match played between an Argentine representative v an Uruguayan side on 16 May 1901 in Paso del Molino. Nevertheless, most historians discard this match equally the commencement, stating that match was non organised by the AUF simply by the Albion F.C.. In fact, the initial lineup featured 9 players from Albion and 2 from Nacional.[5]
    [15]
    [four]

  3. ^

Rules of IOC stated that merely amateur players could participate merely football in South America was non professional in those years, Argentine republic compete with its senior squad.

  4. ^

A match confronting England on 17 May 1953 was abandoned, and the result declared void, hence the number of matches played is greater than the total of wins/draws/losses.

  5. ^

Although Canada and the U.s. played two internationals in 1885 and 1886, neither friction match is considered official; Canada did not play an official international until 1904 and the U.s. did non play 1 until 1916.[
