How-do-you-do shack7a,
The normal life of a CMOS battery is three to 5 years. To be honest i’ve had them last up to half dozen years. It is diffcult to say why your bombardment has died after merely two years, it possibly just an inferior battery. I suppsoe you could ask the same question about a watch battery. Why does one battery last 12 months and some other 18 to 24 months?
CMOS batteries are non that expensive and are easily changed, so long as you know where to find it on your motherboard. With some motherboards you lot cannot miss the battery whereas others it maybe subconscious past wiring or somthing similar.
I wouldn’t worry virtually information technology merely lasting 2 years, just change information technology and, hopefully, this next one volition last longer.

I’ve never had one die on me. Either I just got lucky (with all eight computers I owned/use/service) or nearly people apply their computers in a manner I don’t to let the CMOS battery to die so apace.
I’ve had three computers break before the CMOS did. 1 hard drive failure, ane graphics failure (laptop), 1 ability supply failure (laptop).
I don’t recall at that place’s much you tin can practise in terms of intendance that can affect the CMOS battery life. Information technology’s not like you can requite it a good cleaning from fourth dimension to time (not that i needs ane either) similar you tin can make clean the outsides and dust the insides of a reckoner. its just a fiddling battery sitting on the board that you pretty much ignore 99% of the time.
In fact, I’ve never had a rechargeable bombardment die on me either. maybe I have the magic touch? my batteries never develop memory or loose chapters.

I heard that information technology is 3 to 5 years only I brought the computer just ii years ago and I am taking outmost care of information technology then why is information technology dead??????????????
someone please assistance!!!!!!!
3-five years is a typical number, simply averages don’t mean much. Some last longer, some last less time.
And you don’t know how former the bombardment was when y’all bought the reckoner two years become.
A new battery is very cheap (effectually $2 Us) and easy to supersede. Just replace information technology and don’t worry nigh it..

Y’all also take to consider the time before you bought the PC.
Your MB may take been manufactured a few months before going to the shop and that also affects the battery life.
Another thing to consider is long shutdown periods. CMOS batteries aren´t rechargeable and can run out of charge if the organisation is not powered on for long fourth dimension.
