2004 honda accordance radio no audio

My 2004 honda accord ex v6 radio works, merely no sound. It works for a minute then low pop from front left door speaker than no sound. The radio works but no music.

Same deal. Display works fine, no sound. Took information technology to the dealer, they want $700 to supplant it. That is too much money for a radio, so I had considered getting a used one from the wreckers for $200, but so I worried that the same thing might happen. The radio is conspicuously defective. I've been reading virtually other problems with '03 radios... I am calling Honda Canada tomorrow to need that they fix this for complimentary! Until at present, I've been pretty happy with my Honda, always have information technology serviced at Honda dealerships as well! I am only a few years off from getting a new car... they would be idiots to not stand by their product now. I may mention the only other complaint I have virtually my Honda... two years agone during an extremely cold spell, the adhesive belongings the hood liner permit get and started a fire under my hood. I was driving on the highway at night when I noticed the olfactory property and the smoke. I was in the eye of nowhere, it was -40 deg Celsius with windchill so I had no choice merely to go on going until I got to the next boondocks. I had to become into a restaurant for some water to put out the fire... and I chalked that whole ordeal upward to a fluke... didn't concur it against them (they replaced the hood liner free, fifty-fifty though it was out of warranty - though I had to fight for that. They tried to tell me I had mice living under the hood that had chewed the liner. What they didn't know was that I had merely driven 3000 kms from Newfoundland 2 weeks earlier, and had a service earlier I left.. no sign of mice!)
FINGERS CROSSED HONDA WILL Stand up BY THEIR Product AND Keep ME A HAPPY AND LOYAL Client.

I have exactly the same "no sound" radio issue with my 2004 Accordance LX - all radio/CD functions still work, simply no audio. It worked bang-up for half dozen years. This summertime (2010) it started to "pop" occasionally and the sound cut-out for a second and came back. A week later it cut out for a few seconds and came dorsum. Every bit the days went on, information technology cut out for longer and longer periods to the point where information technology'south totally random at present. I accept no idea if I'll have sound or not. I leave it on when I drive and sometimes it pops in and then pops out. I originally thought information technology might be water from the air conditioning backing upwards the drain line and shorting the radio out (it flooded my main computer in 2005), but after non driving the car for a calendar week I still didn't get audio. I dubiety I'll get satisfaction from the dealer, only if I practice. I'll mail service the reply.

The common theme here is the popping/crackling sound.

Likely, a chip for the audio output has failed and exploded on the internal printed circuit lath.
If that flake or transistor is bachelor, information technology may be able to be replaced. The quesiton is if information technology's worth it...

I had the aforementioned problem in my 2004 honda sixty. Replaced the stereo with after market face plate and stereo. I took the OEM broken sterio apart and found that there was one out of iv basis studs that was non soldered. I know this considering there is a impress on the circuit board the indicates were the solder should be similar the other 3. I inspected the ground area, and in that location is a slight arc burn were the tab makes contact. This is definitely a honda (honda supplier) quality problem. I had to remove so much to dig down to the root problem, that there is no mode I tin can put information technology back together. I'm just sticking with the aftermarket ready. Gives me the option to supersede stereos in the future.

Wow. I have a 2004 Honda Accord Sixty coupe and this has been happening since about 2010 besides. The popping and corking is in the rear speakers virtually of the time, always sending a jolt through me when they audibly cleft and pop. After this happens, the radio/cd player looks like it's working fine, but I cannot go sound. Sometimes I have to turn it on and off a bunch of times to get it to work. Like the rest of you, information technology'southward random.
I decided to search the problem & am relieved and worried at the aforementioned time. Is there anything that can be done? Has anyone talked to a dealer about this?
The car is almost x years old, but maybe it is something they can fix?
